What’s included
- Boutique Hotel Stay8 Nights/9 Days Stay in Boutique-style accommodations in the heart of Accra.
- RT Airport TransfersBuoyant will pick up you up and drop you off at Koata International Airpot in Accra, Ghana.
- Group TransportationBuoyant will provide transportation to all group activities listed on our itinerary.
- AfroFuture VIP ticketThe trip price includes (1) VIP ticket to AfroFuture Music Festival for each traveler. Includes VIP bar access and VIP viewing area.
- Accra City TourWe will visit Independence Arch, Black Star Gate, the Liberation Day Monument, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and the Accra Arts Centre.
- Cape Coast TourWe will visit Cape Cost and Elmina Castle and Kakum National Park
- Makola Market Visit[Optional]: We will visit Makola Market. Travelers are responsible for all personal shopping costs.
- ATV & Aburi TourWe will visit Hillburi Resort, Quad-bike in Aburi and visit a local waterfall.
- Boat PartyWe will visit the Volta Region for a boat party with good vibes and views.
- Welcome DinnerBuoyant will provide a welcome group dinner to all guests that includes a (1) entree, (1) soft drink, beer, wine or cocktail and shared appetizers at a local well-loved restaurant.
- Selected Meals8 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 1 dinner are included in the trip price. All other meal costs must be paid for by the traveler.
- Professional PhotographyOur photographer will photograph our group activities. You will receive a link to all of the group photos within 4 weeks of our departure from Ghana. Individual photoshoots can be added-on at booking.
- Buoyant Travel GuideAll Buoyant travelers will receive a Accra Travel Guide with their welcome email upon booking. It includes information about the best restaurants, nightlife and experiences to have in Accra, Ghana.
- Ghana PlaylistWe will curate and share a Ghana-inspired playlist ahead of our trip to get you ready!
- WhatsApp Group MessageAt least two weeks prior to our December 2022 trip we will invite all Buoyant travelers to a private WhatsApp Group message as a way to connect before and during our trip.
- Pre-Trip SupportEvery Buoyant traveler receives weekly email support from our team to help answer any questions you have about the trip to Ghana. Additionally, a virtual Q&A session with our founder is required.
What’s not included
- FlightsTravelers are responsible for the cost of booking roundtrip flights to/from Ghana.
- Visa & Vaccination feesAll travelers must receive a travel visa from Ghana (if applicable to your home country) and a yellow fever vaccination. Buoyant will not cover any visa or vaccination fees.
- Meals Not ListedOnly the meals listed on our itinerary are included in the trip costs.
- Travel InsuranceTravel Insurance is not included, but is required to attend this trip. Buoyant is not responsible for any stolen, lost, or damaged property, injuries, or loss of life.
- Opt-in activitiesSometimes our itineraries feature additional acitivies which are not included in the trip price. If a traveler opts in to these activities they are responsible for all associated costs.
- Alcoholic BeveragesAlcoholic beverages are not included unless purchased and served by Buoyant. At our welcome dinner, one beer is included. All wine and cocktails must be paid for by the traveler.
- Private PhotoshootPrivate photography sessions are available for booking at an additional cost. Please book the private photoshoot 'add-on' when booking.
- Personal TransportTravelers are responsible for their own transportation to all non-itinerary activities including nightlife. Uber and Bolt are available in Accra.
- Flight TrackerThis 'add-on' is a personal flight tracking service from our team. We'll track flights for a two-month period, recommend 4-5 best flight options, and an optional video call is included.
- Incidental Room ChargesTravelers are responsible for any damages to hotel rooms, hotel property or transportation property.
- Service TipsTravelers are welcome to tip our hospitality partners at their own expense.

This was my third trip with Buoyant Travel, and just like the others, it was unforgettable. The accommodation was top-notch, the communication was seamless from start to finish, and the attention to detail was next level. The Buoyant team even surprised me with a massage to celebrate both my birthday and being a 3x Buoyant alumna—how thoughtful is that?! That kind of care is rare with group trips. I got to try so many new things in Senegal, from food to unique activities, all curated by Buoyant. One of the things I appreciate most is their commitment to supporting Black-owned businesses throughout trips, and this experience was no exception. If you're wondering whether to book a trip, take this as your sign. Do it!

My trip to Dakar with Buoyant Travel was honestly unforgettable. Everything was so thoughtfully curated. From the fabulous hotel stay to an itinerary that struck the perfect balance between culture, relaxation, and connection.
I loved that we had the chance to share a homecooked meal with a local Senegalese family, such a rare and intimate experience that gave real depth to the journey.
From the rich history of Gorée Island to vibrant markets, soulful food, and meaningful conversations, the whole trip felt intentional, joyful, and deeply rooted in culture. Buoyant Travel truly delivered something unique. This was more than a holiday, it was an experience that will stay with me. ✨

This trip offered a chance to experience a new home away from home, with ease and organisation before, during, and after the journey. Most of all, it provided quality time with an amazing group of women! This was all thanks to Buoyant and its incredible Black female founder, who works tirelessly behind the scenes and on the ground—seemingly at the speed of light—to curate a thoughtful and culturally rich experience. I could not recommend this ENOUGH. You’ll just have to experience it for yourself to truly feel the magic!
In the lead-up to the trip, information was shared openly, and assistance was readily available for any questions during the visa process. Timelines were shared well in advance, with clear date markers indicating what to prepare and when. Closer to departure, a WhatsApp group was created, fostering an easy rapport amongst the group and providing a wealth of additional resources—from packing lists to detailed breakdowns of each day. There was never any confusion about what to expect. We even received guidance on navigating the airport upon arrival and handling transfers on the ground.
Arriving in Ghana was seamless. As expected, a transfer was waiting, and I was whisked away to the hotel. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the ever-helpful and exceptional front-of-house team, who took my bags and directed me straight to my room. Like magic, they had been pre-advised of my arrival, ensuring no time was wasted in getting me settled. In my room, I discovered a curated selection of local Ghanaian products, beautifully presented in a Buoyant tote bag—something I used throughout the trip and continue to use in my day-to-day life.
On the ground, the scheduled activities were rich and varied. The tour group was a well-balanced mix of women, making every group activity full of fun and laughter! The itinerary ensured a rich cultural immersion, allowing us to explore different parts of Accra and beyond, all while being catered to through Buoyant’s network of local suppliers. Their goodwill and strong relationships translated into the care shown to each of us, ensuring that our money was invested back into the community. I especially enjoyed the photography organised by Buoyant that was provided by David. I will remember the kindness offered by his team member Ruth.
Beyond the planned activities, independence was encouraged. We were equipped with food delivery apps, Uber, and a Buoyant map packed with a wealth of recommended locations, making exploration effortless.
Buoyant had also recommended travel insurance before the trip. When I had a bad fall, they ensured I knew which hospital to visit for care. I was met by friendly doctors and nurses who treated me tenderly and even remembered me when I returned for a follow-up. What was an unpleasant experience was softened by the kindness of the people of Accra, who noticed my bandages and readily offered help—whether by holding doors open or assisting with my bags.
Truly, I can’t recommend visiting Ghana enough. As a Zambian, I found an ease in experiencing a sense of home in Ghana. Every person I encountered was kind and openly generous. It was truly wonderful. I left with a new group of friends, an unexpected, but welcome, haul from Shoprite, and memories I’ll cherish forever. ABONTENNNN!

A First-Time Traveler’s Dream – My Unforgettable Trip with Buoyant Travel!
As a first time traveler venturing outside the country, I can confidently say that Buoyant Travel has been an absolute blessing. All of my worries leading up to the trip were instantly put to rest the moment my feet touched the soil of Accra, Ghana.
From the very beginning, Briona’s attention to detail made preparing for this trip effortless. She guided me through every step of the pre-travel process—from securing my visa and vaccines to booking my flight—so seamlessly that I felt like I had done this a dozen times before!
Once I arrived in Ghana, Briona’s deep knowledge and genuine connections with the locals made me feel less like a visitor and more like I belonged. Each excursion was thoughtfully curated and an absolute joy, making every moment feel special and effortless.

Ghana with Buoyant was a no-brainer. The website covered every single detail from visa and vaccine requirements to a packing list. If that’s not streamlined enough, Briona was always available to address any questions or concerns.
Buoyant’s rapport with the local community provided my group with experiences you cannot find with a Google search. This was a meticulously curated trip that illuminated the beauty of Accra’s people, cuisine, and culture.
Try the waakye, try the fresh fish, add the shito…just trust me.
Ghana was the trip of a lifetime and if you’re lucky like me you’ll also return with the best souvenir of all- the friendships made along the way.

I was so excited to see that Buoyant was taking an inaugural trip to Dakar, Senegal after following Briona's journey online for several years. I was BLOWN AWAY by the experience from start to finish. As a frequent traveler, I had very high expectations before coming on this trip but Briona & Buoyant exceeded all of them! Every activity on the itinerary was so well curated and I love that we experienced activities off the "beaten path." The accommodations were excellent and the city map she provided was extremely well researched. Throughout the trip, Briona was communicative and kept a cool head even when some activities were outside of her control. I enjoyed the guides and meeting the other ladies on the trip. Most importantly, I felt so inspired throughout the trip and grateful that we were able to support local and Black-owned businesses throughout our stay; Briona nailed it! All this to say, I HIGHLY recommend Buoyant Travel for Black women travelers who want to experience luxury while exploring cool across the Diaspora! I can't wait to travel with Buoyant again!

I really enjoyed my time in Salvador , Brazil. Briana picked a great location and curated an amazing trip. The food and people we experienced were top tier. The help to navigate through the airport was so helpful. And she built in just enough free time for us to explore, shop, etc. I’ll definitely be recommending travel to Salvador and traveling with Bouyant.

I had an amazing time traveling to Ghana with Buoyant Travel. Each day brought a new experience (never a dull moment). This was my first trip to Africa and I wanted to not worry about planning a thing...traveling with Buoyant Travel did just that. All I had to do was bring myself! I met a wonderful group of women who love traveling and it was a pleasure getting to spend the new year with them. I highly recommend this travel group it was more than worth it <3
